The Numbers in Lost are significant, but we really don't know why. I was looking over the notes I had made on this show over the summer and found a list that I had created where the numbers were coming up. Here's some of the notable ones I had:
- Danielle's notes contain the numbers and she used these numbers to arrive at the island (Numbers)
- Each number on the girls' soccer team in the airport as Hurley rides past (Exodus)
- Entered into the Swan hatch computer (Adrift)
- Hurley used these to win the lottery (Numbers)
- Hurley's car displayed these numbers: the speedometer (16 to 15 to 8 to 4), the temperature (23C) and odometer (42) (Exodus)
- LAPD police car numbers (Two for the Road)
- Leonard repeated the sequence in the mental hospital (Numbers)
- Medicine vials: Desmond’s and Claire’s (Orientation and Maternity Leave)
- On the Blast Door of the Swan (Lockdown)
- Swan hatch entrance (Exodus)
- Flight 815 hatch door and the seat numbers for passengers (I know, not all the numbers are used for seats but I thought more seat numbers were going to come up at some point):
- 23A - Jack
- 23D - Rose
- 23E - Bernard
- 42F - Ana-Lucia
